Members of the RVRC meet the first Tuesday of each month to participate in this project at the Roanoke Rescue Mission. The format of the evening includes reading aloud to the children, assisting in creating a craft, and providing a snack. At the end of the 60-minute session, each child receives a book. Families using the Roanoke Rescue Mission Women’s Shelter as a temporary home, experience the joy of reading through these monthly experiences.
